CoreRFID have developed a cutting edge solution using Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology to enable any Mobile Data Capture device such as a PDA, Mobile Phone or Mobile Computer, to record accurate information about company assets and make this information instantly available.

The Solution

The software is used by your workforce to collect the asset information (maintenance reports, service schedules, return from hire report etc.) and transmit the data instantly to the back office system. Authorised administration or management staff can then view the reports produced by individual workers.

The System Explained In Detail

High Frequency (HF) 13.56 MHz RFID tags are used and a HF Reader. Tags come in various shapes, sizes and colours. Please visit our website to view a range of the tags we offer www.rfidshop.com. With our present assent maintenance system we use a PDA with an SD slot and GPRS capability. The SD slot holds the RFID SD reader card; once the SD card is inserted into the slot you can run the CoreRFID PDC program. Once the program is loaded the user tag is read and a pass code (for added security) is required; this is normally a four digit code. Once the user is logged onto the system he/she may then scan the asset which they are about to maintain/service/repair etc. Once the test is complete the user then submits the information by choosing the submit button. This then sends the information on the completed test to the back office web server, which can then be instantly accessed by staff who have permission to view the reports.

Benefits of the System

  • Only a designated and trained worker can carry out the test/inspection on an asset: The user tag and pass code to start the test ensure the system is secure.
  • The tests are time stamped: As soon as the worker logs onto the system and scans the asset the system starts recording the exact date and time of the test and also the time the test ends. You know when the worker was there and when he/she finished that job.
  • No paper is required: tests are all stored on the PDA; new tests can be uploaded to the PDA instantly from the back office web server to the PDA, ensuring the worker has the latest tests for every asset.
  • Reports are generated instantly, downloaded to the back office web server. There is no requirement for the back office to type the test again, as a full report is sent to them.
  • Tags are rugged and hard to damage.
  • CoreRFID PDC can be used on any PDA with GPRS capability.
  • Alternatively a WiFi connection to the web server from the PDA is also possible if a GPRS connection is be required, this would be for office/warehouse based staff.
